Monday At Bedtime.

This is a fairly simple routine since my Keith is at home. We get everyone in the tub for a nice warm lavender bath. Afterwards we do lavender massages for all three kids and rub in the hyrocortizone and special lotion on their bodies. They all have eczema so we have an insane moisturizing routine. Keith does diapers while I make Bo and Cote a bottle and a sippy. I get Gage a cup of warm chamomile tea with honey in it. He has been a bit out of sorts all evening, so I am watching him to make sure he is ok. At this time Bo and Cote get one half of a mg of Melatonin to help them fall asleep. Gage does not get Melatonin because he can fall asleep OK, it's that he can't STAY asleep. Melatonin does not help with that. Also I should add that our use of Melatonin is both suggested and watched over by their Pediatrician. We are still looking into ways to help Gage, which I am sure you will hear about soon.

We settle in and get everyone all hydrated and full. Afterward, it is time for nigh-nigh. Gage likes to have Daddy settle him in when he is home, so up the stairs they go. He has his cat in tow, so he is happy to go. I get Bo and Cote settled in at about 9:00pm and wait to see how it goes. They are so wiped out from the day, that they just crash and burn. I decide to blog, and then take an Epsom salt bath accompanied by a glass of wine, then crash and burn. I start blogging and when I start trying to upload the pics, the computer gives me the middle finger. Two hours later I give up and go to bed. Jerk Internet.

  1. It's Monday evening and I am winding down after the crazy day when I remember I have to email the day's pictures to Rachel. I get them all uploaded to my computer and attached to an email and press send. Easy enough. Then I realize it is sending at a snail's pace, but still I just let it go. The next time I get back to my computer I see I have a new message in my inbox...message return, file size too large. Ok, I will send again with less pictures per message. 2 go through but the last is still too large and is returned. I break it into 2 more messages that I know will each take half and hour to send because the Internet wants to punish me for trying to send pictures to Rachel. I get a facebook message from Rachel asking if there were more pictures from therapy. I am so frustrated with the Internet at this point that I am trying not to snap and rip the DSL connection out of the phone. I reply to Rachel that the pictures are being sent...I hope they reach her inbox sometime in 2012. I can't help but to think that if I were emailing to any other person on earth that the emails would zip right into their inbox with out any problems whatsoever. However, Rachel is Charlie Brown and life pulls out the football every single time she tries to kick it. This has somehow rubbed off on me when it comes to Rachel-related tasks. I don't have time to question it. It's the way it is. I am learning to just roll with it.
