Lunch was a complete failure today. I made homemade mac and cheese with ham and carrots. Yes carrots... I have to do my part to get the veggies rolling in this house. I put extra cheese sauce on Bo and Cote's, and mashed it up with a fork really well. I yelled to Keith that I made mac and cheese with ham, and watched him go running to the stove in utter exuberance. I then got to watch every bit of wind leave his sails when he saw all the cooked carrots mixed in. Hahahahahahah Hahahahahahahaha! Win!
So we sit down to eat lunch, and I was punished by every single person at that table. Keith pouted because of the carrots... Gage pouted because of the ham.... Bo just kept leaning forward and letting his bites land on the table, following up with smashing it with his hands.... Cote just gagged and choked with every bite. Blarg.
So when we were all done fighting, Keith and I cleaned up The Little's and I proceeded to wipe off the table. Soon I hear a high pitched screech. I run to the living room and hurdle the baby gate just in time to rescue Cote from a second chomp from Bo! I have no idea how I have any hair left at this stage in my life. I rock her for a little bit trying to console her, and she eventually just passes out. I lay her down and at this time Bo is flipping out on the floor for no reason besides exhaustion. So he and I sit in the rocker and he passes out within a few minutes as well. Gage knows this means it is "resting time" so he goes to take a potty break and get settled on his bed with a movie. Before he actually gets settled though, the propane company comes to fill up our tank. Gage see's and hears the truck from his window, and within seconds is spiraling. He is tearing around up there so bad, the next thing I know he falls halfway down the stairs. He does not cry... he just keeps spiraling until I put him in a warm shower.
After the truck is gone, Gage is out of the shower and then dressed, I send him upstairs to try again. I am finally able to get in the shower and brush my nasty teeth! Afterwards, I take out the garbage, feed the animals, and come in just in time to do a bottle and dipe for my wide awake Cote and a sippy and a dipe for Bo...
Gage lasted about an hour upstairs and then headed back down... the phone rang a few times, so I chatted with a few people, and then fantasized about going to a wedding reception in October. Hubby and I are going in on a cabin with Melissa and her hubby, that way there is no need to find a ride. I have not had a night out since Bo was about 3 weeks old. He is now almost 4 years old, so you can imagine why I have stars in my eyes right now.
I am a little pitiful, lol.
These last few entries have been a wonderful eye opener. I am loving them chicka!
