So last night went well. No night terrors, and my alarm clock went off at 6:00am. I can honestly say I did not sleep well though. I was a nervous wreck about the next day. I just kept wishing to myself over and over that Gage would be able to handle the days events. I guess I sort of drove myself crazy. But, Gage sis not wake me up. It was a little bit like the twilight zone in a way, so I went to peek in on Gage. Sure enough, he is out of bed. Almost positive he is downstairs, I creep down as quietly as I can. There he is, playing PS3 in the dark. This kid!
I start up a shower for him and I get everyone's clothes ready for the day. I get Gage's Kix, and Bo and Cote some cheesy cream of wheat ( had to give it a try). I get Cote up, change her diaper and pop her in a highchair... I do the same with Bo. I give them each a few Gerber Puffs and go to wash Gage's hair and get him out of the shower. He has a meltdown. Oh Joy. I help him towel off and it takes almost 20 minutes for him to get his clothes on.
I pour some milk in his cereal and we all sit at the table. I begin trying to feed Bo and Cote the cheesy hot cereal, and they of course HATE IT! When we lived in Missouri, grits were basically a staple in the grocery stores. I guess I sort of thought I could replicate it a bit with my Minnesota options. Evidently not. Thank goodness for Amazon!!!
After breakfast, I have to pop everyone in the shower. With Cream of Wheat and Malt-O-Meal, baths are not a good idea, because the "devil beads" will still cling to their hair, lol. I get them towel dried, do the lotion regimen, get them diapered and dressed (Gage just dressed) and then I realize I am not going to have time to shower, lol. Super. I get in the bathroom and wet my hair (hahaha) and throw some mousse in it. I do all the mommy beautifying routine (which takes all of 3 minutes) and start on brushing all the kids teeth. Gage has decided he wasn't to try the electric toothbrush today. Really? As soon as I turn that sucker on, Gage darn near has a panic attack. *sigh* So out comes the boring toothbrush and we fight through the next couple of minutes. Next I do Bo (it doesn't go any better), then Cote (even worse). Time to do Cote's hair. I go to brush it and it is a complete rats next. I should have been out of the house 5 minutes ago. I grab a pony tail holder and pull it up into a messy bun (lol). I grab coats and hats and start getting everyone all bundled up... wiping faces as I go.
We end up leaving the house about 15 minutes later than we should have. I apply my tiny scraps of makeup as I drive. I keep my makeup in the car, because this is usually my only opportunity to slap some on!!!
