Monday Evening

Home again, home again... jiggity jig!

Everyone is crabbbbyyyy!!!!! Crabby and tired, that is the theme song for Monday evenings. I got home, carried in Bo (30 pounds), carried in Cote (almost 30 pounds), carried in Gage (60 pounds), then carried in my 10 minutes worth of groceries... just in time to catch the phone ringing. Keith got sent home from work early (lol not early enough to help carry stuff in though), so he will come help tonight. This is good because my mom, who is our evening PCA, is feeling ill.

So I get to work preparing a Pediasure sippy for Bo Bear, and a Carnation bottle for Miss Cote. I need to get them boosted up and some fluids into them. I have to feed them one at a time, and since Cote is awake, she is my first victim. Fresh dipe and a battle of the wills later, and she is full to the brim. Bo is next and he is cranky. Fresh dipe and he and I sit down in the booby chair to work on his sippy. I actually have to use a squeezable sports bottle to feed him. Bo has very little "suck". He can take a couple weak pulls at meal time, but it is not much at all. When we do sippy's it is very much like giving a baby a bottle, except he can fight and kick and pull hair. He is also infamous for taking a mouthful and blasting it in your face.... which he does numerous times per sippy. I congratulate myself on my patience all day long.

Next it is time to wake up the zombie Gage. He has been up since 3:00am and I know he is exhausted, but if I don't get him up, he will sleep even worse tonight. I dread the moment of waking up a kid. They turn into evil beings and spew naughtiness all over my already messy house! I have to say though, that I think they are all cute when they are crabby. I get some of my best laughs when they are all trying to be dramatic. I love these guys.

Keith gets home and starts helping me with the kids. He see's I am in rough shape and kicks it into overdrive. We get dinner made, (burgers for Keith, coconut shrimp for Gage and I, baked potato's for all 5 of us, and maple squash for Bo and Cote)and all sit down for a little insanity at the table. I now have two highchairs lowered and pushed up to the table for Bo and Cote so all five of us can eat meals together. When it comes to Gage, this is a good and a bad thing. There is so much activity that he struggles to eat, but Keith and I are right there to help redirect him. Also, Cote has to sit by Gage because if Bo sits there, he wont leave Gage alone. I love those moments. I love the moments when they can fight like other kids. I am sure dozens of mom's are going to read this and think I lost my mind... and perhaps I have... but it's refreshing to see some energy come out of these kids... even if it's negative.

After dinner I get to work attempting to wipe the table off.... this is a never ending battle now that The Little's are at the table. I decide to sit down and blog and start uploading pics. My computer is freezing up because of our slow internet... lol. Joy of living in the middle of nowhere. I take a moment to just be thankful I can get internet at all; without it I would die. I Facebook creep a bit, and reminisce about being able to have better contact with some of my old friends. Sometimes when I get like this, I start sending sappy inbox messages to people, sometimes they have mercy on my and write me back... sometimes they just ignore me because I am not cool anymore. I love it when someone writes me back. I usually fly high after getting a nice message back, and I think sometimes I don't show my appreciation well enough. I hope that by reading this, people understand how much just a few minutes of their time can mean to a mom like me. The pictures I added on this blag are from when we got home... they show everyone either passed out or crabby. The ones of Cote... she is passed out like that. I fixed her as soon as I snapped the pic :) **** pictures to follow ****
